"For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ."
— 1 Corinthians 3:11
Who We Are
Cornerstone Reformed Baptist Church exists to glorify God by proclaiming and applying the Truth. For this reason, we are a Word-centered Church. We seek to exalt Christ by preaching the Word, edify the saints by applying the Word, and engage the culture by sharing the Word.
We are a church plant — a community of believers who believe the gospel is still the power of God unto salvation and that West Plains needs a church grounded in the doctrines of grace. We are confessional, evangelical, and Reformed. We hold to the Five Solas of the Reformation: Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone, to the Glory of God Alone.
We are not a perfect church — but we are a church that takes the Word of God seriously and believes that Christ is building His church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
What We BelievePastor Jason Gunter
Teaching Elder
Pastor Jason has served as the founding elder of Cornerstone Reformed Baptist Church. His ministry is marked by a commitment to expository preaching — working through books of the Bible verse by verse, allowing God's Word to set the agenda. His teaching spans the Old and New Testaments, with a particular focus on the sovereignty of God and the sufficiency of Christ for sinners.
He and his family are committed to the long-term health and growth of the church in West Plains and the surrounding communities of South-Central Missouri.

What We Believe
We subscribe to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith as a faithful summary of the teachings of Scripture. Below are the doctrines that define and shape our church.
The Bible alone is the inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God — the only infallible rule of faith and practice for the church and the Christian life.
Salvation is entirely the work of God. Total depravity, unconditional election, definite atonement, irresistible grace, and the perseverance of the saints — all to the glory of God alone.
Justification is by faith alone, in Christ alone. There is one Mediator between God and men — the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for sinners.
Baptism is for those who have professed repentance and faith in Christ alone. We baptize by immersion, following the example and command of Scripture and the practice of the early church.
The Lord's Supper is a memorial and proclamation of Christ's death until He comes again. We observe it regularly as a means of grace, open to all who have professed faith in Christ and are in good standing with a local church.
The local church is a covenanted community of regenerate believers, led by a plurality of elders and served by deacons, gathering regularly for worship and fellowship — sent out to make disciples.
God is sovereign over all things — over creation, salvation, and history. His purposes cannot be thwarted, and His providence governs every detail of life for the good of His people and the glory of His name.
Every Christian is called to be a witness. We are commanded to go and make disciples of all nations, sharing the gospel at home and abroad, equipping the saints for the work of ministry and the advance of Christ's kingdom.
